Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Georgia tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. The wonderful Georgia scenery and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This stretch of Coleman River in Georgia is 2.7 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class V section of whitewater. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. No matter if you're whitewater
rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end
up sleeping in your car. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. There are no other sections to paddle along Coleman River than the Coleman River Road to Tallulah River section. The Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is wonderful. Briefly about the general area: For the period of the summertime here at Coleman River, high temperatures commonly reach the 80's.
Once the sun is down it dips down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Coleman River temperatures descend to the 20's. The high level of rain makes Coleman River a rather wet location; most of the rain falls during March, and October is the month with the least moisture.
