This stretch of Conasauga River is 10 miles long and has been rated as a class III-IV(V) section by American Whitewater. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Cleveland, as you can see on the road map further down. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your camp stove too. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Georgia is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that
many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. The scenic beauty of Georgia and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great.

Briefly about the general area: Conasauga River is a wet place that gets a great deal of rain; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is October. There is a tremendous hiking trail near Conasauga River called the Cloer Trail; nearby you hit upon glorious places like Alaculsy Valley. During the warm months at Conasauga River highs are frequently in the 80's with night lows in the 60's. During
the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Conasauga River. On a fine day at Conasauga River you can take a hike along the Gryder Camp Trail.
