The wonderful Georgia scenery and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The average Georgia whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. If you're coming from Cleveland it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. This |

is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your camp stove too. The nearby hotels are a bit
| away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come.

Alaculsy Valley is in the neighborhood of Conasauga River and is unquestionably a great spot to go to; going for a hike on the Cloer Trail is always a great adventure. There is a wonderful hiking trail in close proximity to Conasauga River called the Gryder Camp Trail.
