The to Bear Creek stretch of Daniel Creek in Georgia is 4.6 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class V+ section. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Summerville, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The wonderful Dade County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Daniel Creek have people coming here. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. rafting and kayaking in Georgia is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The to Bear Creek stretch is the only paddling stretch along Daniel Creek. There are plenty of hotels here if
you want to spend a night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers.
Briefly about the general area: All the water falling down from the sky makes Daniel Creek a wet place; during the month of March you get the most rain around here, and October on the other hand is the driest. At Daniel Creek throughout the long summer days highs are in the 80's.
Summer overnight lows descend down to the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 40's, and overnight lows all through the winter for Daniel Creek tend to be in the 20's. Whiteoak Spring is an inspiring location to stop by while you're here, and Little Mans Gulch is another magnificent spot to explore nearby.
