The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The wonderful Georgia scenery and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. The Roadside along Darnell Creek Road stretch of Darnell Creek in Georgia is 1 miles long and has been rated as a class III+(V+) section by American Whitewater. The starting point is not too far from Toccoa, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the
page. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. When you're paddling down a Blue Ridge Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Getting some good exercise and a chance
to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. The Roadside along Darnell Creek Road section is the only paddling section along Darnell Creek. No shortage of good hotels, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This is a very short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch.

Nearby Pine Gap is a magnificent place to go if you're at Darnell Creek; you have to undeniably have a look at Sheep Cliff while here. The high level of rainfall makes Darnell Creek a pretty wet place; the wettest month of the year is commonly March, that's the one that rains the
most, and the driest of the months is July. This river is so perfect. Don't leave Darnell Creek without first going for a hike along the Bartram Trail. Raven Rock is an exciting location to have a look at while at Darnell Creek, and hey, Gotta ski right? Sky Valley is a wonderful
location to do that. At Darnell Creek during the warm days of summer highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 40's with temperatures at Darnell Creek dipping down into the 20's during winter nights.
