The nature scenery of Georgia and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. If you're coming from Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Marietta it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Dog River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the GA Route 5 to Dog River Reservoir section is the only one. Whitewater rafting and kayaking     in Georgia is often tougher than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. This stretch is mid length, you can easily run it on an afternoon.
