The natural beauty of Georgia and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. The GA 52 to Close to Lake Lanier section of Little River - East Fork in Georgia is 2.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III+ section of whitewater. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more.
The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The GA 52 to Close to Lake Lanier stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. This is a bit of a short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours
on the river in one stretch. If you're coming from Gainesville it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here.
