The Hightower Road to US 19 section of Etowah River in Lumpkin County is 10.5 miles long and has been rated as a class II(III) section by American Whitewater. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. Getting your paddling muscles     activated and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. The Hightower Road to US 19 section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
