The starting point is not too far from Gainesville, as you can see on the road map further down. The GA 52 to Glades section of Flat Creek is 2.1 miles long and is a class II-III(V+) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This is a short paddling stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots     in Georgia are harder than the national norm, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The GA 52 to Glades stretch is the only paddling stretch along Flat Creek. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Briefly about the general area: Through the summertime months at Flat Creek temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's while night lows are ordinarily in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and nighttime lows through the wintertime for Flat Creek tend to be in the 20's. A great site to check out in close proximity to Flat Creek is Glade Shoals.
