The starting point is not too far from Thomaston, as you can see on the road map further down. On this section you do get some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you won't find many other paddling rivers.
