The starting location is a short drive from Gainesville, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so don't forget that many runs in this state are not easy. The nature scenery of Georgia and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
Frogtown Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the US 19 to US 19 at Turners Corner stretch is the only one. This stretch is short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp.
This stretch of Frogtown Creek in Georgia is 2.9 miles long and is a class III-V(V+) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is an added bonus. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that.

40's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Frogtown Creek fall into the 20's. A lot of rainfall falls at Frogtown Creek; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain, and October on the other hand is the driest.
