  This stretch of Hard Labor Creek in Morgan County is 4 miles long and it is classified as a class III section by American Whitewater. The natural beauty of Georgia and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Athens-Clarke County, as you can see on the road map further down. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater
    rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. Hard Labor Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Historic Brown Hill Church to Browning Shoals stretch is the only one. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t
have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip.

A great spot in the neighborhood of Hard Labor Creek is Browning Shoals. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Hard Labor Creek while nighttime lows are typically in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's with temperatures at Hard Labor Creek dipping down into the 30's during winter nights.
Hard Labor Creek is a wet place that gets much rainfall; March is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is September.
