The FS Road 86B bridge to Three Forks of West Fork Chattooga section of Holcombe Creek in Georgia is 1.9 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV-V+ section of whitewater. The starting location is a short drive from Seneca, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains     scenery is an added bonus. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This stretch is short so no need to bring snacks. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. The natural beauty of Rabun County and the water flowing gracefully down Holcombe Creek are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This is the only paddling section along Holcombe Creek. Briefly about the general area: Just can't get enough of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Three Forks Trail is a perfect hiking trail close to Holcombe Creek. There is a   fine hiking trail in close proximity to Holcombe Creek called the Burrells Ford Trail, and Owl Gap is another great place to stop by nearby. Holcombe Creek gets a great deal of water; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is July. High temperatures at Holcombe Creek through the warm days of summer are in the 80's; the overnight is a little cooler of course, mostly in the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Holcombe Creek.
