Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. If you're a camper     you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The beautiful scenery of Georgia and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This stretch of Hudson River is 2 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-III+ section. There are no other stretches to paddle along Hudson River than the Wilson Shoals WMA stretch. This is a short paddling stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: Hudson River is a wet place that gets a great deal of rain; March is the month that gets the most rain, and October on the other hand is the driest. Summer   brings highs in the 80's to Hudson River with night lows in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and overnight lows in the 20's for Hudson River.
