Georgia whitewater - Hurricane Creek, Douglas County
Douglas
county,
GA Route 5 to Mt. Zion Road section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS IV(V) 2.52 miles
The average Georgia whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so better not forget that many runs in this state are not easy. The scenic beauty of Georgia and the playfulness of the water beats anything. This section of Hurricane Creek is 2.52 miles long and it is classified as a class IV(V) section by American Whitewater. This is a pretty short section so better bring some good walking shoes. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. And of course,
there are campgrounds nearby. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good places for that around here. There are no other stretches to paddle along Hurricane Creek than the GA Route 5 to Mt. Zion Road stretch.
