  This section of Hurricane Creek is 2.52 miles long and is a class IV(V) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Douglas County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Whitewater rafting and kayaking
    spots in Georgia are harder than the national norm, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. This is a bit of a short stretch so it's not like you're gonna
spend hours on the river in one stretch. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The GA Route 5 to Mt. Zion Road stretch is the only paddling stretch along Hurricane Creek.

Briefly about the general area:
All the water falling down from the sky makes Hurricane Creek a wet place; March is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is October. Summer at Hurricane Creek comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 50's while Hurricane Creek overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the 20's.
