The GA Route 5 to Mt. Zion Road section of Hurricane Creek in Georgia is 2.52 miles long and has been rated as a class IV(V) section by American Whitewater. This is a pretty short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. The GA Route 5 to Mt. Zion Road section is the only paddling section along Hurricane Creek. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so better not forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners.
Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The nature scenery of Georgia and the beautiful
way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that.

Summertime highs at Hurricane Creek frequently tend to be in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. All through the wintertime the highs are usually in the 50's, and nighttime lows at Hurricane Creek through the wintertime generally plunge into the 20's.
