Fannin county, Jones Mill/Bethlehem Church to Conasauga Confluence section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS II-V     17.2 miles
The starting point is not too far from Cleveland, as you can see on the road map further down. The Jones Mill/Bethlehem Church to Conasauga Confluence stretch of Jack's River in Georgia is 17.2 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-V section. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so pack your camp stove.
Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. You can pitch a
tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The nature scenery of Georgia and the water flowing gracefully down Jack's River attract people from near and far. Whitewater paddling here in the Great Smoky Mountains is a great experience. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. The Jones Mill/Bethlehem Church to Conasauga Confluence section is the only paddling section along Jack's River.

Briefly about the general area:
This river is so good. Nearby Crooked Dogwood Gap

is a splendid location to go if you're at Jack's River. And that's not all there is to do here in the Great Smoky Mountains. No need to travel far to have a look at attention-grabbing stuff like Horseshoe Bend, and going for a hike on the Rice Camp Trail is always a good adventure.
What would a place like Jack's River be without exciting close by characteristics like Beech Bottom; nearby you find the Hickory Ridge Trail which is a delightful hiking trail. All the water falling down from the sky makes Jack's River a wet place; during March this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is October.
