The put-in location is a short drive from Cleveland, as you can see on the road map further down. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Georgia is often tougher than elsewhere, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. This section of Jack's River in Georgia is 17.2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-V section of whitewater. The wild scenery of the Great Smoky Mountains is great. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve
in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The Jones Mill/Bethlehem Church to Conasauga Confluence section is the only paddling section along Jack's River. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. The wonderful Fannin
County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your camp stove.
Briefly about the general area: Jack's River is a reasonably wet place regularly with a good deal of precipitation; March is the wettest month with most rain, and October is when it's the driest. A cool spot to go
to right next door to Jack's River is Beech Bottom; since you're here why not take a look at Crooked Dogwood Gap. This river is so good. Going for a hike on the Rice Camp Trail is always a glorious adventure. Whohoo, so much entertaining stuff in one place! The Great Smoky
Mountains is peerless! Near Jack's River you find the Hickory Ridge Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail, and you need to have a look at Horseshoe Bend if you're here. At Jack's River throughout the days of summer highs are in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 40's, and night lows in the 20's for Jack's River.
