Georgia whitewater - Little River, Putnam County Putnam county, Glenwood Springs Road to Lake Sinclair section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS I-II     3 miles   The scenic beauty of Georgia and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. This stretch of Little River in Putnam County is 3 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. There's camping available near Little River. Getting some good exercise and spending     some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. The put-in is not too far from Milledgeville, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The Glenwood Springs Road to Lake Sinclair section is the only paddling section along Little River. This stretch is short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you won't find a large number of other rivers. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: Summertime highs at Little River regularly tend to be in the 90's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. Through the wintertime   the highs are frequently in the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Little River. Little River gets a lot of water; March is the wettest month with most rain, and October on the other hand is the driest. Don't leave Little River without first going for a hike along the Twin Bridges Trail.
