The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Georgia are often more challenging than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. If you're coming from Milledgeville it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. This is the only paddling section along Little River. There are many good hotels to choose from, but you'd better reserve in advance because these     hotels fill up quick. This is a bit of a short stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This stretch of Little River in Putnam County is 3 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with not too many other rivers for that. Briefly about the general area: Going for a hike on the Twin Bridges Trail is always a splendid adventure. Summer brings highs in the 90's to Little River while overnight lows are typically in the 60's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 50's; overnight lows in the 30's for Little River.
