Georgia whitewater - Little River, Putnam County Putnam county, Glenwood Springs Road to Lake Sinclair section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS I-II     3 miles   The scenic beauty of Putnam County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This stretch of Little River in Georgia is 3 miles long and is a class I-II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The average Georgia whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons     to come. This section is quite short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Milledgeville, as you can see on the road map further down. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is the only paddling stretch along Little River. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are not so many other good places for that around here. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Briefly about the general area: Little River mostly gets a great deal of precipitation; March is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is October. During the warm months at Little River temperatures are   usually in the 90's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's while the cold winter nights at Little River are in the 30's. Go for a hike on the Twin Bridges Trail.
