have paddled several streams in area, including high falls from below horseshoe rapids to ga 42. very similar to lil' towaliga - very shallow, rocky, bumpy ride... high water makes for better ride but can be dangerous with rocks, sharp bends in channel w/ falls, rapids around corners, watch out for snakes and (...). This section of Little Towaliga River in Georgia is 2.4 miles long and is a class III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Georgia tend to be more challenging
than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Great
exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good spots for that around here. The starting location is a short drive from Thomaston, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The beautiful scenery of Georgia and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. The Rocky Creek Road to Higgins Mill Road stretch is the only paddling stretch along Little Towaliga River. The campgrounds here at Little Towaliga
