New Bridge Road to Chattahoochee River section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS III-V 2.5 miles
The New Bridge Road to Chattahoochee River section of Mossy Creek is 2.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-V section. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The scenic beauty of Habersham/Hall County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This section is quite short so it's not
like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these
hotels fill up quick. If you're coming from Cornelia it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. Mossy Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the New Bridge Road to Chattahoochee River stretch is the only one. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people.
