The Hurricane Shoals County Park section of North Oconee River in Georgia is 0.25 miles long and it is classified as a class III section by American Whitewater. The Hurricane Shoals County Park     stretch is the only paddling stretch along North Oconee River. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Georgia is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. This is a very short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. No need to look hard for hotels, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.
