If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Georgia you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. The nature scenery of Georgia and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The USFS Road 86B to Overflow Creek Road Bridge stretch of Overflow Creek in Georgia is 5 miles long and is a class IV-V(V+) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This is the only paddling section along
Overflow Creek. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. There are many good hotels to choose from, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an
afternoon trip. The Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is wonderful. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. If you're coming from Seneca it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.
Briefly about the general area: Summer brings highs in the 80's to Overflow Creek, and the overnight is quite cooler of course, ordinarily in the 50's.
Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 40's, and overnight lows through the winter for Overflow Creek tend to be in the 20's. Near Overflow Creek you find pleasant places like Sandy Gap, and do take a hike on the Three Forks Trail. Now, you may think that's a load
but there's even more enjoyable things to do here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Burrells Ford Trail. Overflow Creek is a wet place that gets a great deal of rainfall; March is the wettest month with most rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month.
