The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Seneca, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The natural beauty of Georgia and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This section of Overflow Creek in Georgia is 5 miles long and is a class IV-V(V+) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. Overflow Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the USFS Road 86B to Overflow
Creek Road Bridge stretch is the only one. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking
river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so better not forget that rivers here are less forgiving. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's perfect for a one day trip. The wild scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains is great. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots.

down from the sky makes Overflow Creek a wet place; the month with most of the rain is March; July is the month with the least moisture. Overflow Creek is right by the Burrells Ford Trail, and Sandy Gap is also a great site to discover. Summertime highs at Overflow Creek usually
tend to be in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's while Overflow Creek night low temperatures during the winter are in the 20's.
