If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Georgia you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The USFS Road 86B to Overflow Creek Road Bridge section of Overflow Creek is 5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV-V(V+) section of whitewater. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, you can easily run it
on an afternoon. The starting location is a short drive from Seneca, as you can see on the road map further down. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. The nature
scenery of Rabun County and the water flowing gracefully down Overflow Creek have people coming here. The Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is wonderful. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are no other stretches to paddle along Overflow Creek than the USFS Road 86B to Overflow Creek Road Bridge stretch.

at Overflow Creek you can take a hike along the Three Forks Trail. The Burrells Ford Trail is a splendid hiking trail right next door to Overflow Creek, and Overflow Creek is close to Sandy Gap which is absolutely worth visiting. High temperatures at Overflow Creek all through
the days of summer are in the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 40's; overnight lows during the winter for Overflow Creek tend to be in the 20's. A good deal of precipitation
falls at Overflow Creek; through the month of March you get the most rain around here while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
