The beautiful scenery of Georgia and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. This section of Potato Creek in Upson County is 9 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-IV section. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. This stretch is     mid length, good for a one day paddling trip. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. There's camping available near Potato Creek. There are no other stretches to paddle along Potato Creek than the Highway 74 to Flint River stretch. Lodging is available near the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Briefly about the general area: Potato Creek sees pretty high levels of precipitation; March is the month that gets the most rain while October is typically the driest month. Throughout the summertime highs here at Potato Creek get into the 90's. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 60's.
