The Elder Mill Road park and huck stretch of Rose Creek in Oconee County is 0.2 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because     these hotels fill up quick. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Georgia is often tougher than elsewhere, so don't forget that many runs in this state are not easy. Rose Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Elder Mill Road park and huck section is the only one. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. The wonderful Oconee County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Rose Creek are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Through the winter highs are in the 50's, and nighttime lows in the 30's for Rose Creek. If the weather is   glorious here at Rose Creek, you can go for a hike along the Mounds Trail.
