The average Georgia whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The wonderful Carroll County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. This stretch is short so no need to bring snacks. The starting     location is a short drive from LaGrange, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The Banning Mill Road to Johns Mill stretch is the only paddling stretch along Snake River. Briefly about the general area: Through the summertime highs here at Snake River get into the 80's, and the night is a little chillier of course, frequently in the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 50's; overnight lows all through the winter for Snake River tend to be in the 20's.
