If you're coming from Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Marietta it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. The nature scenery of Georgia and the water flowing gracefully down Sweetwater Creek are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The Sweetwater Creek State Park to
Chattahoochee River stretch of Sweetwater Creek is 4 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-IV(V) section. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. There
are many good hotels to choose from, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The Sweetwater Creek State Park to Chattahoochee River stretch is the only paddling stretch along Sweetwater Creek. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Georgia you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here
are not as easy as elsewhere. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip.
