The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Calhoun, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This stretch of Talking Rock Creek in Georgia is 18 miles long and is a class I-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the GA Highway 136 to Carters Lake
Reservoir section is one of them. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. The beautiful scenery of Georgia and the water flowing gracefully down Talking Rock Creek make the trip here worthwhile. The nearby hotels are a bit
away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots.
