The put-in is not too far from Cornelia, as you can see on the road map further down. The nature scenery of Towns/Rabun County and the water flowing gracefully down Tallulah River make the trip here worthwhile. The average Georgia whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. This stretch has has enough
mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. This stretch of Tallulah River in Georgia is 5.5 miles long and has been determined by American
Whitewater to be a class I-II(III) section. When you're paddling down a Blue Ridge Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. This river system is full of great paddling stretches, the GA/North Carolina State Line to Tate Branch Campground stretch is just one of them. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. area: Tallulah River is a wet site that gets a good deal of precipitation; March is the month that gets the most rain; the driest of the months is October. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Tallulah River, and the night is somewhat cooler of course, ordinarily
