This stretch of Tallulah River in Rabun County is 3 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class V section of whitewater. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The starting location is a short drive from Cornelia, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you
want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is an added bonus. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. The wonderful

the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Tallulah River. Tallulah River typically gets much rain; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily March, that's the one that rains the most; October is the month with the least moisture.
