The starting point is not too far from Cornelia, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The nature scenery of Rabun County and the water flowing gracefully down Tallulah River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Georgia are harder than the national norm, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. And of course, there are campgrounds
nearby. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. This section of Tallulah River in Georgia is 4 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The wild scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains
is great. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Old Highway 441 to Tallulah Falls Lake section is just one of many. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.

here at Tallulah River. At Tallulah River throughout the summertime highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are regularly in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Tallulah River are in the 20's.
Tallulah River is a wet spot that gets much rainfall; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is October. A brilliant place to go to next to Tallulah River is Worley Gap, and Cascade Falls is always fun to check out.
