Jones Mill Road to Highway 5 section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
hello, i live in carrollton and my wife and i are trying to find the exact location of put-in/take-out, the map doesn't proved enough detail, could you please help. Says chris
The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. If you're coming from LaGrange it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The nature scenery
of Georgia and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll
find lots of paddling spots. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is the only paddling section along Wolf Creek. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here.
Briefly about the general area: All the water falling down from the sky makes Wolf Creek a wet spot; most of the rain falls all through March while October is usually the driest month. Summer brings
highs in the 80's to Wolf Creek, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. During the wintertime the highs are generally in the 50's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Wolf Creek.
