The put-in location is a short drive from Gainesville, as you can see on the road map further down. The US 19 North of Dahlonega to US 19 section of Yahoola Creek in Georgia is 6 miles long and has been rated as a class I-IV section by American Whitewater. The beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is an added bonus. Great exercise and just hanging out     with mother nature are great reasons to come. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The wonderful Georgia scenery and the cool fresh water have people coming here. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the US 19 North of Dahlonega to US 19 stretch is one of them. No need to look hard for hotels, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good spots for that around here. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. Briefly about the general area: Much rain falls at Yahoola Creek; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain, and October meanwhile is the driest month. Summertime brings   highs in the 80's to Yahoola Creek while night lows are frequently in the 60's. During the wintertime highs are commonly in the 40's with temperatures at Yahoola Creek dipping down into the 20's through winter nights.
