Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Hanalei doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Headwaters to Ocean stretch is the only one. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. If you hurry you can     run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. The wonderful Hawaii scenery and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. Briefly about the general area: Through the long summer days highs here at Hanalei reach the 70's. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 50's. Highs during the winter are generally in the 60's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Hanalei temperatures sink to the 40's. If you want to hit the beach, Puu Poa Beach is nearby. On a wonderful day it's a magnificent idea to spend the day at Anini Beach, and Halelea Forest Reserve is worth checking out.
