  This stretch of Bear River in Caribou/ Bear Lake County is 6 miles long and is a class III-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Idaho and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. There's camping available near Bear River. On this section you do get some distance, it's perfect for a one day trip. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the
    night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Idaho tend to be more challenging than the national average, so don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. Some people prefer whitewater
rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you won't find many other paddling spots.

Briefly about the general area:
If you wish for a little side journey, try Cedar Hollow. For the duration of the summertime months, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Bear River. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's; after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Bear River sink into the 10's.
Bear River is pretty arid ordinarily; during the month of June you get the most rain around here, and July is when it's the driest.
