The Big Creek Airstrip to Cache Bar section of Big Creek in Idaho is 54 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-IV section. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. A stretch this long is of course too much for a one day trip, so it looks like you will be camping out. Big Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Big Creek Airstrip to Cache Bar stretch is the only one. The beautiful scenery of Idaho and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. You can pitch a tent
or park your RV at a nearby campground. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a pretty small number of paddling places. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Idaho are often more challenging than in other states, so
if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The river winds through the Salmon River Mountains and you get great scenery. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
