The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back     for more. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. The natural beauty of Idaho and the water flowing gracefully down Big Sand Creek make the trip here worthwhile. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with not too many other rivers for that. The Swamp Creek Trail to White Sand Creek section is the only paddling section along Big Sand Creek. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Whitewater paddling here in the Bitterroot Range is a great experience. Briefly about the general area: Through the warm days of summer highs here at Big Sand Creek get into the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Highs during the winter are regularly in the 30's with temperatures at Big Sand Creek dipping down into the 10's during winter   nights.
