This section of Big Wood River in Lincoln County is 14.1 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-III section. The beautiful scenery of Lincoln County and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Idaho tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better
reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. The campgrounds here at Big Wood River are pretty good. A bit of exercise and spending some
quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Highway 75 to Little Wood River section is one of them. If you're coming from Twin Falls it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camp stove.
