The starting location is a short drive from Jackson, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This stretch of Bitch Creek in Idaho is 10 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-IV section of whitewater. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your camping stuff. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're
willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.
Briefly about the general area: All through the summertime here at Bitch Creek, high temperatures generally reach the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Bitch Creek. Hiking along the De Coster Trail is magnificent fun, and going for a hike along the DeCoster Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. Bitch Creek gets very little precipitation; the month with most of the snow is January, and the driest of the months is July.
