The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Idaho Falls, as you can see on the road map further down. The wonderful Idaho scenery and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. The Cutthroat Trout Campground to Trail Creek Bridge stretch of Blackfoot River is 12 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Idaho is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The nearby
hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your sleeping bag too.
Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a pretty small number of paddling rivers. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Cutthroat Trout Campground to Trail Creek Bridge section is one of them. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people.
