  The natural beauty of Idaho and the water flowing gracefully down Blackfoot River have people coming here. This stretch of Blackfoot River in Bongham County is 8 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV section. The put-in is not too far from Idaho Falls, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations
    in advance you're all set. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you won't find a large number of other rivers. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Trail Creek Bridge to Cedar Creek
Close to Aldridge section is one of them. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip.

Briefly about the general area:
Have a great hiking adventure along the Portneuf Presto Trail. At Blackfoot River you don’t see much precipitation; most of the rain falls through May while July is typically the driest month.
At Blackfoot River all through the summertime highs are in the 80's with night lows in the 50's. Highs throughout the winter are generally in the 20's; overnight lows at Blackfoot River through the wintertime commonly sink into the 0's.
