The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Mountain Home, as you can see on the road map further down. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Idaho is often tougher than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. This section of Boise River - South Fork in Elmore County is 16 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out
with mother nature are great reasons to come. The beautiful scenery of Idaho and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. If you hurry you can run
this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so go ahead and pack your camp stove.
