This stretch of Bruneau River in Owyhee County is 40 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-IV section. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you won't find a large number of other places. A section like this is is of course not run in a single day, so it looks like you will be camping out. Whitewater rafting and     kayaking spots in Idaho are harder than the national norm, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The campgrounds here at Bruneau River are pretty good. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. If you're coming from Mountain Home it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. On a great day at   Bruneau River you can take a hike along the Roberson Trail.
