This section of Coeur d'Alene River in Shoshone County is 26 miles long and has been rated as a class II section by American Whitewater. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Idaho is often tougher than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The Senator Creek     Campground to Prichard section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you won't find many other paddling spots. The beauty of the Bitterroot Range is a great plus for this river. If you hurry you can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so pack your sleeping bag. Briefly about the general area: Coeur d'Alene River is a good location of typical rain; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most snow; the driest of the months is July. That right there is a heap of entertaining stuff already but it goes on, the Bitterroot Range   has it all. Summer at Coeur d'Alene River comes with high temperatures in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 40's. During the winter highs are in the 30's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Coeur d'Alene River. What would a site like Coeur d'Alene River be without interesting nearby traits like Devils Elbow, and great hiking is available along the Rock City Pond Peak Trail.
