This stretch of Coeur d'Alene River in Shoshone County is 26 miles long and it is classified as a class II section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Idaho is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. The natural beauty of Idaho and the water flowing gracefully down Coeur d'Alene River have people coming here. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. Some people prefer whitewater
rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you won't find many other paddling spots. The beauty of the Bitterroot Range is a great plus for this river. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better
reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There's camping available near Coeur d'Alene River. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too.
