Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Idaho is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. The natural beauty of Idaho and the water flowing gracefully down Coeur d'Alene River have people coming here. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. Some people prefer whitewater     rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you won't find many other paddling spots. The beauty of the Bitterroot Range is a great plus for this river. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There's camping available near Coeur d'Alene River. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. Briefly about the general area: Devils Elbow is an out of the ordinary site to have a look at while at Coeur d'Alene River, and you can have a great hiking adventure along the Rock City Pond Peak Trail. Coeur d'Alene River gets a normal amount   of rainfall; most of the snow falls during December while July is regularly the driest month. Summertime at Coeur d'Alene River arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 40's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Coeur d'Alene River are in the 20's.
