The wonderful Shoshone County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. This stretch of Coeur d'Alene River is 51.2 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-III section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Idaho is often tougher than elsewhere, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The beauty
of the Bitterroot Range is a great plus for this river. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you
won't find many other paddling rivers. A stretch this long is of course too much for a one day trip, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Tepee Creek to South Fork Coeur d'Alene River section is one of them.
