The Jordan Creek to Teepee Creek section of Couer d'Alene River - Big North Fork in Shoshone County is 8 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II+(III) section. The Bitterroot Range scenery is wonderful. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are
not suitable for beginners. There are no other stretches to paddle along Couer d'Alene River - Big North Fork than the Jordan Creek to Teepee Creek stretch. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. A bit of exercise and spending
some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are not so many other good spots for that around here. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
