The nature scenery of Boise County and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so better not forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. When you're paddling down a Salmon River Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so pack your camping stuff. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a
short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The Deadwood Reservoir to End of Road stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming
back for more. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling places. The campgrounds here at Deadwood River are pretty good. This section of Deadwood River in Idaho is 14 miles long and is a class IV-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater.
Briefly about the general area: Near Deadwood River you discover the West Side Trail which is a good hiking trail. Deadwood River is pretty dried up mostly; January is when you get the most snow here; July meanwhile is the driest month.
All through the warmest time of the year highs here at Deadwood River get into the 90's with overnight lows in the 40's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Deadwood River.
