If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Idaho you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. The put-in is not too far from Jackson, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Cave Falls Campground WY to Concrete Bridge section is one of them. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The natural beauty of Idaho and the cool fresh water are reasons enough
to come here and paddle. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places. This stretch of Falls River in Fremont County is 14 miles long and has been rated as a class III section by American Whitewater. There
aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more.
Briefly about the general area: Falls River is a location that is reasonably dehydrated ordinarily; through January this area sees the most snow, and the driest of the months is July. Good hiking is available along the West Boundary Trail. For the period of the summertime months,
highs typically are in the 80's at Falls River. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's usually in the 40's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 20's with temperatures at Falls River dipping down into the 0's through winter nights.
