The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Idaho are often more challenging than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The nature scenery of Clearwater County and the playfulness of
the water make the trip here worthwhile. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Floodwood Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Bridge to Reservoir stretch is the only one. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother
nature have people coming from far and near. The Bridge to Reservoir stretch of Floodwood Creek in Idaho is 4 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The Clearwater Mountains scenery is wonderful. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.
Briefly about the general area: Near Floodwood Creek you discover the Rukgaber Trail which is a good hiking trail, and Coopers Saddle is another glorious spot to pop by close by. A common amount of precipitation falls here at Floodwood Creek; January is when
you get the most snow here while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Summertime highs at Floodwood Creek mostly tend to be in the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally
in the 30's; night lows through the winter for Floodwood Creek tend to be in the 20's. This spot, the Clearwater Mountains, has so much outdoors amusing stuff. The Freezeout Trail is a good hiking trail near Floodwood Creek.
