Boise
county,
4 miles upstream of Highway 21 to MoReservoir Creek confluence section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS II-III 4 miles
I drive this stretch of creek all the time and the only time this creek is high enough to float is very early spring. I am unsure of the MoReservoir creek confluence. I am familiar with Mores creek confluance. Most of the summer you will be lucky to float a stick down this stretch. Says Mike
The natural beauty of Boise County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind
that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Boise City-Nampa, as you can see on the road map further down. The 4 miles upstream of Highway 21 to MoReservoir Creek confluence section of Grimes Creek is 4 miles long and is
according to American Whitewater a class II-III section of whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's perfect for a one day trip. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. This is the only paddling stretch along Grimes Creek. Since you're on this
site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots.
Briefly about the general area: Grimes Creek is next to Davis Gulch which is unquestionably worth visiting. Summertime highs at Grimes Creek mostly tend

Through the winter the highs are frequently in the 30's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Grimes Creek dip into the 10's. Grimes Creek gets very little rainfall; the wettest month of the year is typically November, that's the one that rains the most; July on the other hand is the driest.
