The Point upstream to Hazard Creek confluence section of Hard Creek in Idaho is 2 miles long and has been rated as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Idaho County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. There's camping available near Hard Creek. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this     is an area with plenty of rivers for that. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The Salmon River Mountains scenery is wonderful. This is the only paddling stretch along Hard Creek. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. This stretch is short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. Briefly about the general area: Summertime brings highs in the 90's to Hard Creek while nighttime lows are usually in the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Hard Creek. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting things in the Salmon River Mountains. A glorious place   to take a look at next to Hard Creek is Bascom Canyon, and a short spree to Tepee Springs is always worthwhile. It is very waterless here at Hard Creek mostly; during May this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is July.
