Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Idaho are harder than the national norm, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. This stretch is short so no need to bring snacks. The campgrounds here at Hard Creek are pretty     good. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The natural beauty of Idaho and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. The river winds through the Salmon River Mountains and you get great scenery. This is the only paddling section along Hard Creek. Briefly about the general area: There's no way someone can get bored here in the Salmon River Mountains. Hard Creek gets very little rainfall; the month with most of the rain is May while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. All through the summer months highs here at Hard Creek get into the   90's with nighttime lows in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Hard Creek fall into the 20's. Near Hard Creek you find great places like Bascom Canyon, and the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Tepee Springs.
