The Hard Creek to Little Salmon confluence section of Hazard Creek in Idaho County is 1 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The wonderful Idaho scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is a very short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Some
people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. Whitewater paddling here in the Salmon River Mountains is a great experience. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Whitewater
rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. Hazard Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Hard Creek to Little Salmon confluence stretch is the only one. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near.
