Box Canyon to Last Chance section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS II 4 miles
Box Canyon can be floated by most anyone in a canoe, raft, drift boat, kayak or pontoon boat 8'+. There are enough rocks and shoreline sweepers to keep you on your toes. It's mainly floated by anglers or pleasure floaters and is often done several times a day due to it's nice short length of 4 miles. It's not real wilderness but the wilds are closeby and it's got a nice feel. Says Larry Tullis
The Box Canyon to Last Chance section of Henrys Fork in Idaho is 4 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of whitewater.
Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Idaho are harder than the national norm, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The natural beauty of Idaho and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. A good workout and just
hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. The starting point is not too far from Rexburg, as you can see on the road map
further down. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp.
